Notification of upcoming works


In March, further work will begin on the Rhigos mountain as part of works to connect the project to the National Grid 400kv line at Hirwaun Industrial Estate.

– From 16th March, the Craig y Llyn lay-by will be temporarily closed for a period of 12 weeks.
– The Rhigos Mountain Road will also be closed from the evening of April 10th to the morning of April 13th 2015.

Our neighbours are installing turbines


Our neighbours at Mynydd Bwllfa are currently installing turbines. This 22.5MW, 9 turbine development received planning consent in May 2012 and construction began in November 2013. The project is due for completion in the summer of 2015. You can find out more about the project and sign up for updates here.

Pen y Cymoedd provides training ground for newly accredited Site Engineer

After spending much of the last year onsite at Pen y Cymoedd, Site Engineer Rhys Roberts has become Jones Bros’ first former trainee to rise through the ranks and achieve a significant industry accreditation.

Rhys, 24, has completed his registration as an engineering technician (EngTech) with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), having progressed significantly since joining Jones Bros as a trainee in 2007.

The EngTech is the first of three levels of registration available to practising civil engineers with the Engineering Council, the regulatory body for professional engineers in the UK.
