Summer site visits are underway

Over the last two weeks 40 local residents have joined us for a site visit. Associate Project Manager, Dan Wills and Senior Project Manager, Stephen Holdroyd, our resident tour guides, have answered some interesting questions about various aspects of the project. The questions have ranged from the development, construction and future operational phase of the project, including how the wind farm was designed, the dimensions of the foundations and how many homes the wind farm will power once operational. There was great interest from our visitors to return in 2016 to see the turbines being installed and we look forward to welcoming them back.

Are you gearing up to apply to the Community Fund?

When we first started talking to you about Power in the Valleys it felt like your ideas had a long time to wait before they could become a reality. Since then 3000 ideas and comments have been submitted, they’ve been reviewed and have helped to generate more ideas, more focused thinking and have been compiled into an inspiring ‘Vision’ for the Pen y Cymoedd Community Fund. The Fund will become available in late 2016/early 2017, so the time is fast approaching when people interested in delivering the Community’s ‘Vision’ can apply for support from the Fund.
