Yesterday we were in the news as the project has achieved a major milestone – first power. It’s been a real team effort over the last few months to get to this point, and it means that we can now begin the process of commissioning the turbines ready for full operation, which we expect will be early next year. Here our Project Director, Will Wason tells us more about the team behind this achievement.

Onshore power boost to Wales’ renewable energy ambitions

Wales’ largest onshore wind farm has generated clean electricity for the first time this month, as the project moves towards full operation. The export of power to the national grid heralds one of the biggest boosts this decade to delivering Wales’ green energy targets.

Vattenfall, the Swedish energy company, is now looking forward to the completion of the 76 turbine Pen y Cymoedd Wind Energy Project early next year.

Reunited with her owner!

Thank you to everyone who helped us reunite Seeka, the lovely dog with her owner via social media.

She was found onsite earlier today by members of our construction team. Gwyn, Site Foreman for Jones Bros Balfour Beatty fed her and she has being drying out in our offices throughout the day. The owner is currently on his way to pick her up.
