Pen y Cymoedd Festival Opening Celebration Postponed

Ops Team

We recently wrote to you regarding the Pen y Cymoedd Festival Opening Celebration due to take place on 30th September. We have made the decision to postpone the event until next year due to ongoing construction works onsite. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to seeing you onsite next year and will confirm the date as soon as we can.

Don’t forget that there are many walking and mountain bike trails onsite for you to enjoy over the Summer period should you wish to experience the wind farm at your own accord. The area has changed significantly over the last three years due to the new infrastructure so please download this Site Map to take with you. If you would like a paper copy please email us with your address and we will post one out to you.

Contractors in the community

Our contractors, Jones Bros Balfour Beatty Joint Venture have been busy over the last few months tidying up community lanes in Glynneath and Resolven. They have also improved accessibility to Llyn Fawr Reservoir by filling in pot holes using stone from Penderyn Quarry. We have received fantastic feedback from the local residents involved.

As featured in Energy+Notion

We first met Richard Jones, Photographer when he joined us on a visit to the wind farm with Rhigos Primary School in April 2015. Since then the construction team have been helping to facilitate visits to site for him, so that he could take some shots of the construction team and their works for his short film Energy+Notion. The film documents the transition from non-renewable to renewable energy in the South Wales Valleys. How Richard managed to get two years of work into about 12 minutes of film we have no idea!

We went along to the launch of the film last Friday and it will be screened in various venues in the coming weeks. Today some of the photos feature in The Guardian. View the article here.
