Contractors in the community

glynneath-residents

Our contractors, Jones Bros Balfour Beatty Joint Venture have been busy over the last few months tidying up community lanes in Glynneath and Resolven. They have also improved accessibility to Llyn Fawr Reservoir by filling in pot holes using stone from Penderyn Quarry. We have received fantastic feedback from the local residents involved.

Local artists Gayle Rogers and Chris Williams of the Workers Gallery are currently embarking on an artistic journey in response to a changing landscape, inspired by the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Energy Project. Gayle and Chris continue to share their work with us via social media and you can see their work in progress with your own eyes between 10am and 5pm, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays between 5 and 14 May 2016.

Gayle Rogers, Artist: “The work is beginning to represent a composite landscape that has a ‘commemorative’ dimension yet simultaneously it is about the expectations of the future. It is very exciting to be working on a live project.”
