Cyclists, please be seen!

Health and safety for site users and site workers

If you are a keen cyclist or mountain biker using the tracks and trails within the site please take extra care over the winter period. The dark evenings and bad weather make visibility extremely low.

When you are using the tracks and trails please be seen by wearing some high visibility clothing and/or using bike lights. Please wave hello and wave goodbye to our site team who will do the same when they have seen you. Let us work together to keep the site a safe working area, for cyclists, mountain bikers, walkers and our site workers.

Please get in touch with any questions.

4500 mountain bikers hit the trails onsite this year

Mountain bikers at PyC

Since January 2015 the Pen y Cymoedd site has had over 4500 mountain bikers alone pass through it, not including walkers and other cyclists. The health and safety of the public and site workers is our contractors’ top priority and this is outlined in health and safety briefings which take place daily. In addition, the team have regular updates with the mountain bike community, given the speed in which they travel through the site. The wave hello, wave goodbye scheme has proven a successful one so far, in encouraging site workers and members of the public to look out for each other.
