Our turbine components at ABP South Wales – Swansea Docks

Over the last few months our turbine components have been unloaded at Swansea Docks before making their way by road to the site. Our colleagues at ABP South Wales – Swansea Docks have very kindly shared these photos with us of the turbine components being unloaded from the vessels and momentarily stored in the large ‘lay-down’ area. Going for Gold!


Vattenfall and turbine supplier Siemens have been working closely to ensure that each turbine is of the highest standard possible. Each turbine component is inspected whilst on the ground, with minor repairs taking place if there has been even the slightest bit of damage in transit. Following this each component is washed thoroughly.

Turbine component deliveries – week commencing 23rd May


Please see below turbine component delivery information for the week commencing 2nd May. Please note that these are expected times only. Please get in touch if further information is required.

Morning deliveries are expected to leave Swansea Docks at around 09:30. Due to the length of time it takes for the components to travel to their respective turbine locations, we cannot be specific regarding the afternoon delivery time, and deliveries will leave Swansea Docks between 11:30 and 13:30. This means they will arrive at the bottom of the Rhigos between 12:30 and 14:30.
