Turbine component deliveries – week commencing 21st March

Please see below turbine component delivery information for the week commencing 21st March. With the weather in an improved state at the moment, deliveries will continue as they have been over the last few weeks. Please note that these are expected times only. Please get in touch if further information is required.

Morning deliveries are expected to leave Swansea Docks at around 09:30. Due to unpredictable weather on the Rhigos Mountain, we cannot be specific regarding the afternoon delivery time, and deliveries will leave Swansea Docks between 11:30 and 13:30. This means they will arrive at the bottom of the Rhigos between 12:30 and 14:30.

The Pen y Cymoedd Apprentices go offshore

Three years ago we interviewed hundreds of local young people. Four apprentices were taken on to train to become wind turbine technicians. After two years of study at Neath and Llandrillo Colleges, the apprentices have now started on their practical training. Vattenfall, in conjunction with local company Isofab, has followed the four apprentices’ progress closely as they’ve developed and taken on new challenges – with one even having to learn to swim to complete his offshore rescue training!
