On Monday 26th October during the afternoon, the third and fourth of 80 transformers for the project will be delivered to site by our contractors ABB. More information about the timings of the abnormal loads will be displayed on our Twitter feed once the vehicles get closer to the site.
On departure from Immingham Docks by road, the two abnormal loads will be escorted as a health and safety precaution. We expect both transformers to travel to site together. When they get closer to site the route they will take is the M4, A465 and finally the A4061 up to the main site entrance at the top of Rhigos Mountain. Short delays are possible, especially on the A4061, due to the narrow nature of the road. We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused. The transformers will be placed in situ within the onsite substation, which is currently being constructed next to the permanent operations and maintenance building, which has been designed to house a team of 30 staff.
In mid-November, we expect to commence turbine component deliveries, which will use the Tower Colliery entrance to access the site.
